Canadian drug policy is currently being heavily influenced by the U.S. Govt.. If you live in B.C. look around the U.S. DEA is already there enforcing and consulting with Canadian officials.

I've been screaming that at everyone I tell about this Bill. Gangs and big time dealers wouldn't plant anything less than 50 plants. If they were sensible and made the number 50, or even 25, then the bill might make sense, but ONLY if they allowed people to grow up to 10 plants with absolutely zero penalty. Then they wouldn't be punishing people that grow for personal consumption, but would strike a blow to organized crime which is supposed to be the point of this bill.

@Hashishin13, where did you get that information. The last update I received was that the Senate removed the mandatory minimums for cannabis plants between 6 and 199, but only if they're grown in a rural area. According to the last update, the MM's still apply to anyone in a town or city growing 6 or more plants. I find it hard to find updates on amendments to the bill and such, so any help would be appreciated.

They did us one better, the senate took out the mandatory minimums for cannabis altogether. I love our senate.

Well good news, the senate voted to block this insanity (for now anyway) by a vote of 38 - 33 last week.
