@a1foodmart3 Well, perhaps you would have prefered the Portuguese, the Spanish, the Germans, the Russians perhaps or the Japanese? If you want to have any understanding perhaps you should start with studying rather than pontificating and airing your ignorance.
Indeed a great documentary but I read more than that in schools in India. Some of my fellow country men are so surprised by this documentary as if they have heard of this all first time. It shows students in India do not read books for fun and understanding but just to get marks and reach to next level. It always makes me crazy as it was so fun for me to study history about Maurya dynasty, Gupta dynasty before that stone age, bronze age, iron age and all.
@Jeet27 WHY THANKFUL TO BRITS ARE YOU GUYS gOD YO RUINED OTHER NATIONS AND COLONIZED AND CALL OTHERS FORLOWER THAN YOU ALL SHAME ON WHITES BRITISH PISS ON U
@Jeet27 no one invited them, do well adjusted European countries who are academically outperforming the USA force their way in and impose educational reform? No, because unfortunately unlike them India didn't have border/immigration agencies to break a foot off in the ass of the Brits.
In the current climate of hysteria between racial and religious misunderstanding, if not pure bigotry.. I think you should forgive the BBC for glossing over much of the brutal history of India. This program, for many is thier first contact of investigation into the ideas of Buddhism, Hinduism & Sikhism. It is a flattering commentry of these cultures to entise people to study without bias. There's a lot to learn.
@Jeet27 nah read history it was really bad they had their culture destroyed and brtish created poverty and slavery through colonial rule. Even the dutch were better than british
