What Pride offered that the UFC can't is a narrative. Pride focused their efforts on fewer divisions, fewer events, while having their key stars being extremely active. This allowed you to follow a constant progression of fighters' rises and falls from event to event. Saku beat 4 Gracies in a year (plus 3 other fights in between), became something of an invincible national hero for Japan, only to brutally lose to Wanderlei just a few months later. You could never reproduce that in the UFC.

That fight between Minotoro and Shogun will always be one of the greatest battles I've ever seen. The moment between Arona and Nog is very telling of the brotherhood those teams developed at that time. Man, Chute Boxe vs. Brazilian Top Team.... What a rivalry!

I just feel fucking awfule for people who havent seen PRIDE. And twice as bad for those who know about it and dont respect it because of UFC bias. No hate on the UFC just a shit situation on how many people are missing out one of the best eras in MMA.
