Demonstration of the Django Reinhardt waltz "Chez Jacquet" during an instructional workshop at Djangofest Northwest 2006 on Whidbey Island, Washington.
I've heard at least three different versions as far as the repeats go. Some play each part twice, some only once, and there's this version. Some slow in the middle, some don't. There doesn't seem to be a hard and fast standard, and since we don't have any recordings of it by Django himself, we don't really know how he played it.
lovely tune... i played this recently, but i put the slow down in the middle... whereas tchavalo only plays the middle bars once round for some reason :-)
Merci. Joué avec le coeur, sans fioritures ni pipo...De l'authentique....Virez Malraux!....Tchavolo au Panthéon!....
