Back pain plagues as many as 80% of us -- but guzzling pain killers isn't the only way to get relief. A new report says that chiropractic therapy is just as effective as over-the-counter pain relievers for back pain. Dr. Oz explains how your spine gets misaligned and what this treatment could do for you.

  • Good job, Dr. Oz!

  • Manipulation for pain relief and mobility restoration has long been proven. However, Chiropractors advocating manipulation in lieu of other medical practices, such as vaccination, is a threat to the patient and the community.

  • But believe without feeling superior.

  • MDs, DOs, DCs, PTs should be respected for what they do. Each has something beneficial and different to offer. There is always a great debate but everyone should back up. Take a look at yourself and stay in your lane. If everyone did that, no one would ever have a problem with pride or ego when it comes to referring to the necessary provider. What the public does not know is that all of the providers above (MDs, DOs, DCs, PTs) are primary care providers. Each has to believe in what they do

  • I decided to read the posts. No one in there right mind would really think this woman just got on a stage and received an adjustment. When on television, there is an additional set of liability documents. The idea behind the segment was to promote the efficacy and safety of chiropractic for back pain. Dr. Steve did more than what was shown on the segment. Maybe he should have been given more air time but what's done is done.

  • I'd just like more positivity. There are plenty other things to be upset about in regards to the state of healthcare perior. Just saying.

  • Just because this chiropractor didn't adjust the way you do doesn't make it wrong. He did a great job. Dr. Oz did a great job. It was great exposure. NO doctor in any field does the same exact thing. You should never believe that when you adjust you only move one segment unless you are an upper cervical doctor who only touches the atlas. Chiropractic is a gift. No one can do what a chiropractor does better or has the amout of experience adjusting either. I'd see this as a free advertisement.

  • Good adjusters practice specific spinal adjustments. Good Chiropractors use many other alternatives to help their patients in addition to spinal manipulation.

  • I definitely agree the DC should have indicated the patient had been examined prior to having adjusted the patient..and also indicate what he was adjusting..a good chiropractor practices specific spinal adjustments.

  • Solid segment. Did he really hafta add it that bit about removing nervous system interference? I'd give this segment a 10/10 if he didn't add that subluxation comment.
