I lived in Uganda and the grass hoppers that are eaten are seasonal and 99% of them are green..the brown ones are rare..These grasshoppers taste like shrimps..if westerners can eat shrimps,,then whats the big deal about grasshopper..in fact in I think even after 30 years I can eat them again..Honestly, I think they pulled a fast one on this guy..they made him eat the crappy grasshopper which is seasonal & which the native wont touch..the squirrel too was prepared for him,,never eaten in uganda

First of all, grasshoppers is/are not a staple food in Uganda like asperges(asparagus) in the Netherlands is not a staple food but enjoyed seasonally. Secondly if they are not in season, I wonder what bug was served? The picture shows a different kind of grasshopper or locust? The grasshoppers are normally green see picture posted by jplaroque. Lastly, squirrels eaten in Uganda? This is a first!

Just had my first grilled squirrel last night. Tasted great.

The villagers are feeding up the fat white guy because they are planning on eating him later.
