  • Hey, the address you showed in the video, is my cousins house, the house shown in the video was torn down and he got a new one built there.

  • @CurtJames93 I didn't know that. It was sort of small I think it only had 2 bedrooms. Was it in pretty bad shape? It looked okay in 1983. I have a picture we took of it then the last time we were there. How long ago was this?

  • Thanks. Pretty much all my family is buried in Greenlawn. My Mom's bank is on the corner of 33rd st and Twin City Hwy, less that a block from your grandparents. I'll look for the house when I go by the bank tomorrow. I even had a friend that lived at the end of 33rd st just down the road. I was two in 1961 but i remember everything from your video. Thanks again.

  • @MrEvolesel That would be interesting. It had I think dark green siding on it when we last saw it in January of 1983. I hope it is still there. My dad built the garage when he got out of the Seabees in 1946.

  • Now that you mentioned it I think I remember the streets having crushed shells in the asphalt or something like that. I remember the house next to my grandparents, having stilts also. Some did others didn't. I'm happy that my parents kept these films over the years. Hope you enjoyed it.

  • So it is still there, then.

  • @allbillsnomoney bout 2 or 3 years ago, i dont know remember the condition the other house was in.

  • Thanks!! Let me know what the cost is so I can send you the money...My address is 532 64th Avenue, Meridian, MS 39307-5711.

I might have mentioned I had kinfolk living on Colorado Avenue and..can't remember the street, but it was in Griffing Park.

    Thanks again!!!

  • @catman5169 We still drink SeaPort. I'll even send you a pack. Lemme know.

  • My dad grew up on Atlanta Ave where we would visit my grandmother. I remember the house being on stilts because of frequent flooding, it seemed super high from a kids view anyway. I also remember some of the streets being covered with or made of crushed shells?

My dad is now 79 and I still love hearing stories of his childhood in Port Arthur.

  • Love this video. My grandmother lived in Port Arthur from the early 1900s until she passed away in the 70s. (My dad grew up there) I remember going to visit relatives there every year in the 60's and 70's and when I watched your video It was like I could smell the air there again. I remember all those places. Thanks so much for sharing!
