Ecotricity is working on a prototype Electric Car based on a Lotus Exige. From Dale's blog at http://zerocarbonista.com:

"I was in Norfolk yesterday meeting the team that are building the car for us. We've reached the end of the feasibility phase (the donor car is in absolute pieces). We shot some more film on the day and now have enough to make a short promo to tout to the TV companies, to see if any of them want to follow the project from here - the building and testing of the car. Here's a short clip to give an idea of where we're coming from."

I'm not waiting in line either and paying a hundred grand for a 2 seat electric Lotus Elise, I want something practical like an electric 911 with 4 seats and bootspace. The tech is here right now but as long as it stays as a 'cottage industry' the price won't compete with the Oilers.

I'm making one my-bloody-self too.
