Steven Simon, Southwest Louisiana, has been selected as our 2011 Paramedic of the Year. In his 11 years with Acadian, Steven has shown a remarkable work ethic, exemplary paramedic skills, and is respected by his peers for his positive attitude and leadership. He is a Louisiana certified EMS instructor and spends countless hours at NEMSA in Lake Charles assisting the staff as an adjunct instructor. He also teaches CPR and ACLS to Acadian employees as well as the local hospitals.
Steven works on one of the busiest ambulances in Lake Charles and his AMPS scores rank among the highest in the district. No matter what the situation, whether it is overwork or fatigue, he always has a positive attitude and his patients receive top notch patient care. Without a doubt, Steven has dedicated his life to EMS. He is an all-around good guy who enjoys coming to work every day and doing what is right for his patients.
