@TheSahugani Even Gandhi would have turned to a darker path if you pushed him far enough. NO man is without a breaking point, a point at which he snaps and gives into corruption, decides to further his own goals, damn everyone else. His wish to become more powerful became twisted into a hatred of his own weakness. The only thing he could have done was hold out a bit longer, and let it fester inside of him.

@jimrobmicah So your saying they removed all choice, all sense of free will? He chose to walk the path he did. admittedly events left him with fewer options than he might have had but in the end he chose that darker path.

He chose his path because he despised his own physical weakness and out of jealousy of his own brother's strength. The gods simply took advantage of that.

Raistlin did not TURN to evil, he was forced to evil because of the god's sick games and his own loneliness. He believed power was the only way to get people to love and admire him, and that belief became corrupted, once again, by the god's games and wars, until he forced down the gods THEMSELVES. The gods brought that false, horrible future upon the world of krynn, Raistlin was just an abused tool.
