@MsSmartiepants2 And FYI: As of less than 3 weeks ago, Jon, Roy & Mikey were all back on the George bandwagon, warming up for at last grab at the past: Culture Club's 30th Anniversary Tour in 2012. I can think of only one word for that idea: BAD!

But I would never make a sweeping statement about the gay community or any other person or group based on the actions of one bitter sociopath. @mrsfineanddandy Absolutely. The Boy George persona was created as a commodity by Jon Moss. George said in an interview Jon encouraged him to be less aggressive and confrontational. No more Jon, George went back to being George O'Dowd. But I don't think people are blinded. There are lots of fans now who love George because he is bitchy and horrible. because they are the same way. The gay community worships bitchy queens.

You'd be hard pressed to find a more devoted fanatic of BG I was when I was a teen in the 80s. BUT I GREW UP. I am ASTOUNDED that ADULTS are so blinded by CELEBRITY that they lose sight of REALITY. He has by his own actions PROVEN himself to be a hypocritical nasty bastard. "Boy George" was/is a PERSONA created, manufactured & sold like any well-timed commodity. "Boy George" opened doors & minds. Kudos & credit for that. BUT George O'Dowd is HUMAN—and he is VILE. Shame on adults who applaud him.
