The S-Type Jaguar for 2008 (which will be its final production year) shows its British heritage in more ways than one. Firstly its typically Jaguar styling cues, such as the rear quarter windows, and in particular the grille - actually more reminicent of the C-Type than the Mk.II which most people compare it to. Secondly, the S-Type is made at the Jaguar factory at Castle Bromwich where the legendary wartime Spitfire fighter plane was produced. Jaguar stylists paid tribute to this, and the eliptical curve of the Spitfire's wing is a motif for many of the exterior and interior shapes of the S-Type.

  • This car never got any recognition for what it is: absolutely stunning.

  • Classy and integrity car. This for the grown men or anyone else that like to roll up in a formal restaurant. and then hop out with a suit. Then this is the perfect car. Is really classy

  • I wonder where cars of the past gone? OH yeah, people would rather prefer state-of-the-art technology and ditch generous lines. Look at the 2012 Mercedes E-Class. It's LOADED with technology, but it's quite frankly very ugly as well. Where has quality gone? Cheap labor and cost cutting measures, implementing plastic and vinyl wood trims, and making it up with tons of cheesy chrome adornments. Disgusting.

  • i have a 2005 s type in radiance red - it's a gorgeous car and a pleasure to drive - my next jag will be the traditional british racing green though lol - thanks for the video!

  • this is going to be my first car for my 17th :)

  • I would much prefer an S-Type over the new XFs. This is classic Jaguar, unlike the crappy new ones.

  • Thats it after hearing all these positve comments I am never going to sell my S Type Jag !

  • @LordChurlay << "Timeless Appeal" excellent choice of words- "Lord Charles'' & I will follow your advise my friend. Stay classy!

  • @LordChurlay << True indeed- my friend- The S- Type was different from anything that was made in that era- I just like any thing that doesn't follow suet with the mainstream standards cars, music, or women!!! a cut above average one could say!

  • GETTING MY FIRST JAGUAR IN 2 MONTHS SAME COLOR WITH LIGHT WOOD GRAIN INTERIOR- THIS CAR IS A CLASSIC & SHOULD BE KEPT FOREVER- CLASSIC DESIGN-THAT WILL SURPASS THE TEST OF TIME- & SHOULD FETCH A HIGH PRICE IN THE FUTURE IF KEPT IN GREAT CONDITION. 03's-to-08's 4.0 to 4.2 & S TYPE R's ARE THE BEST KEPT SECRETE- ONLY JAG FANS KNOW ABOUT- SIMPLY TIMELESS JAG!!!!!

  • Don't expect your S-type to be problem free. They are expensive and takes a long time to fix. It took 3 weeks for me to fix the AC on mine.

That said S-Type is the perfect designed luxury sedan. Elegant and gentlemanly. The new XF is much more air dynamic but who is racing? Not that I hate the XF but Jaguar should separate the racer market from the luxury "retro" market.

The S-type is the most beautiful car I ever owned, with the best power steering I have ever used. 240hp is plenty of power.

  • @Brugality Mid spring a good time to get the STR's together? What's your Jag Forum call name?
