  • i think if lewis faught tucker in his prime, lewis would be beaten badly

  • lennox lewis always fights his opponents when their washed up! thats why he dont get no respect

  • @sinusbradycardia

Like I said, I do not care what anyone tells me about Tucker... Lewis caught Tucker at the right time. I agree with you about what PAWLIE68 said. Tucker was on a comeback trail and not quite the man he used to between Tyson to Lewis bouts. He became more slower and more mechanical; his fluidity in his style was completely gone. After the Lewis fight he further destroyed himself on the drugs scene... Sad.

  • @PAWLIE68 Also, people say that Tyson in his prime would have easily crushed Lewis. People either don't know or just don't want to remember. Tyson and Lewis sparred as teenagers. Tyson busted Lewis up in the 1st round and they asked him if he wanted to continue at the end of the round and he said yes, I got him figured out and by all accounts Lewis more than held his own against Tyson and Cus D'Mato said that one day as pros they would meet. Too bad it wasn't in the early 90's.

  • @PAWLIE68 I meant to say Spinks would have had a loss on his record. I rank Lennox Lewis in the top 5 best Heavy's of all time. When I say this to people, I get called ignorant and people I don't know anything about boxing. Prime vs Prime Lewis still beats Tucker. Lewis could play if safe & box, like he did against Morrison, or he could go a make a statement like he did against Ruddock, Golota and Grant. I believe for the Ruddock and Golota fights Lewis was only a slight favorite.

  • @sinusbradycardia I agree Tucker would prob have beaten Spinks, who was really just in the right place at the right time Heavyweight wise.Tbh, whether Tucker had faded a little or not, i couldnt see him beating any version of Lewis though. I rate him as one of the better Heavies of the late 80's and early 90's anyhow. Seldons main prob was he often lacked heart rather than a glass jaw imo.

  • @PAWLIE68 Well arguing the competition wasn't my main point. If Tucker had anything left he should have ko'ed glass jaw Seldon. I watched the fight & was pretty amazed that Tucker didn't ko Seldon. My point was that this was not the best Tony Tucker ever. I think he got in to the best shape he could be, but his skills had eroded at this point. Also if Spinks would have defending his IBF title against Tucker, Spinks would have been a win on his record and no Tyson/Spinks.

  • @sinusbradycardia The Tucker that fought Tyson never actually had any great names on his record to define him; An aged Jimmy Young, fringe contender James Broad and best of all, the inconsistent Buster Douglas. His comp. was probably actually better in between the Tyson and Lewis fights; McCall, Norris, Swindell, Evans etc. After Lewis he won a few and his stoppage to Seldon was due to eye damage, not a ko.

  • @LOLgiRlkiMMy He ranks up there for sure, to the two one punch ko's will for me always keep him out of the top spot. In both instances Lewis claimed he could have continued and in a way I wish they would have continued because Lewis was hurt very badly and would have been finished in both fights. He should thank the refs for not allowing him to take unnecessary punches.

  • @Thothik1 Maybe the knockdowns wouldn't occurred due to Tucker's defense or maybe his chin wasn't as great. I know this fight would have been a closer that is for sure and this person PAWLIE68 making the claim that Tucker was at his best ever for this fight is just an ignorant statement. After the loss to Tyson, Tucker's toughest bout was beating drug addition. Also Tucker didn't fight top notch competition between Tyson Lewis. His best win, very close SD win over Oliver McCall.
