This videos explains how to install the GROM USB or GROM iPod interface into Lexus RX 300 1999-2002.
The installation is very simple giving the fact that CD changer is easily accessible in the glove box.
Takes around 10 minutes and require the scredriver.

  • How to tell if the rx300 has a Nakamichi stereo

  • @Thug9030 It is usually written on the front facia plate of your stereo. Or you can also check the stereo manual, or you can take the stereo out and check the sticker on its top or back. But usually it is written on the front facia. Thank you.

  • hello Gromaudio

I have lexus rx 300 2000 how can I swicth between radio and play grom mp3

and everytime turn engine off the grom mp3 start up first song of my mp3 thanksss

  • @483Antran Hello. To switch to GROM - press CD button. You mighty need to press it twice. If you will need additional support - please contact us via support page at gromaudio website.

  • @gromaudio in your reply to nazaroffkz you say that the CD stays functional. You probably meant that the CD in the head unit (if present) stays functional but the CD changer does not. At least in the 99 model Lexus RX300, the only CD player is the factory changer that was just disconnected in the video. So for at least the 99 model the CD function is lost. Or am I missing something? Thanks!

  • @redmonddad

Yes you are correct - in that case with 99 RX300 there is no built-in CD player, so the external CD player ( in the glove box) is being disconnected.

    Thank you.

  • hi! just wanted to ask - so, if I'm using this adapter I can only play music from my mp3 device, right? I mean, do I have to choose between CD or mp3 player music?
