All videos put up, demonstrate completing the game at Hard Difficulty. I also aim to train all my weakest pilots skills to maximum by using them a lot in missions, so the fights tend to be harder as a result.

In my earlier two videos, I emphasized collecting, and training, a cadre of elite pilots skilled at using Jump-capable Mechs. (If you haven't seen those videos for Op2 Mis 3 and Mis 4, you should)

Jump-capable Mechs have their advantages, provided you know how to use them properly:
1. They can leap out of harm's way instantly: out of the area of an airstrike from Aerospace Spotters, or behind buildings/forests to block line-of-sight of enemies.
2. They can leap over rivers/walls to capture control towers, saving your Mechs a beating; or attack enemies, as in this video (See this other video: Op4 Mis 3.)
3. Their pilots' overall skills increase faster toward Elite.

Now, here is one demonstration of how exactly a small group of fast, Jump-capable Mechs can be extremely useful. They're faster than bigger Jump-capable Mechs, so they can duck and dance and stay out of close range whilst blasting apart their targets with long-range weapons like PPCs, ER Lasers, LRMs and Light Autocannons, as the start of this video shows!

My entire group moves up to the river and begins bombarding the three Hunchback-Js' with weapon fire. Once the Hunchback-Js' start moving far enough away from the riverbank, I jump the Brigade over and continue the pursuit, keeping far back enough so my bigger and slower opponents never get to use their devastating Heavy Autocannons on the frail light Mechs. Watch as the Jump Brigade tears through the weak rear armor of their quarry, chasing down each Hunchback-J one by one. At video time 01:44, my Jump Brigade returning to rejoin their comrades, I screen my Salvage and see I've gotten 2 of the 3 Hunchback-Js with their weapons intact.

Meanwhile, the sharp-eyed would have seen me ordering the first Force Group to take up positions facing the Rommels guarding the bridge. At video time 02:38, with my Force Groups on the move to link up, I run through my Mechs' pilots and weapon loadouts.

Once my Mechs have linked up, I take apart the tanks on the bridge. Then I move across the river to the railway line, scouting front and back to give me a clear view of the area of the imminent showdown.

When the three Uller-As' and the train appears, I demolish the Uller-As' one by one, taking out the train engine to derail it once it has gotten far enough. Now I move to engage a lone Centurion in the bottom left corner of the map, then scout around to see if theres anything to capture. And hey! There is a lone Uller-A, unpiloted, at the bottom right of the map! Falcon takes out its cockpit, giving me yet another Uller-A as salvage, whilst my Jump Brigade, which has remained behind to deal with the train, finishes it off.

In addition to the skills training, I come away with a huge haul: two Hunchback-Js', a Centurion-A, and two Uller-As', all with their weapons! A grand total of 5 out of 8 enemy Mechs in the mission! Ohhhh yeah!

SALVAGE TIP:
My weapons mix is chosen specifically to salvage as many enemy Mechs as possible whilst still allowing me to take them down quickly. Furthermore, my style also allows me to obtain their weapons; Clan-tech weapons are particularly valuable since you can't buy them! The trick lies in either blowing out the enemy Mech's cockpit, or just barely destroying its centre torso - which means a mix of weapons which predominantly include many fast-firing weapons that deal tiny amounts of damage, not a plethora of Heavy Autocannons which tend to reduce their target to a pile of useless scrap. If you watch the other vids I put up, you'll notice it's practically the same proportion and assortment of weapons I use to haul away the loads of salvage I get in each mission. I average around 50% salvage rates for each mission; that's a 1 in 2 chance of salvaging every Mech I defeat, AND get their weapons in the bargain!
