  • Ive got a 84 with a 350 Mr. Goodwrench crate, and I am not a car person, I dont really know anything, and I was wondering what kind of muffler i should use to improve sound?

  • @Keilz I think its just a chance u take. Its like you don't know what your going to get till you hear it. Pypes make a good muffler. I just about went with them. I heard the 44s on another car. I just like the way they sound. Flowmaters or Pypes. I don't think you could go wrong.

  • You sir, have an amazing car. 68 is my favorite year for El Caminos, and it looks like you've put a lot of time and effort into making and keeping yours a beautiful classic. Keep up the good work.

  • @Helkjit Thanks, I need to make a new vid. The exhaust system is broke in now. Its sounds different. Thanks for the comment.

  • Can you give me the part number for your Thumpr cam. They have a couple different Thumpr Cams for small block Chevy, so a part number or cam specs would be great. Thanks

  • @pontiacgto405 Mine is 279TH7. Adv. Duration is 279 INT, 297 EXH. Valve lift is .479 INT, .465 EXH. This is the mildest thumpr cam. I didnt go any bigger, because i didnt want to change valve springs too. Lifters, pushrods and roller tip rockers are Comp magnum series. The video does no justice. It is very loud and deep. Just hear the pingy sounds on the video. Great cam, great power and torque. Just let me know for more info.

  • WOW!!! That is music my friend!!! Very nice setup.

  • gotcha! thanks for the reply! sounds great btw

  • @fordsaretampons i have limited info on this motor. The builder and machinist have past away. It lost two lobes on the first cam. I put the thumpr cam in myself. Block .040 over, displacement stock, compression ?. The heads are double hump. By my fathers info they have been reworked with the big valves. But i don't know didn't pull them to see. The spring measure 1.25. I didn't know how much lift they could take so i chose the mildest thumpr cam. If they are stock they work fine. No problems

  • what are the other specs on your engine? displacement, compression ets? i noticed you said something about not replacing the springs for the cam, if you are running stock springs hows that work with this cam?

  • I think I shit my self...yes, YES I DID!!

  • did you use your stock y-pipe with the shorty hooker headers?
