April 5, 2008 Good Morning America interview at Barnes-Jewish Hospital with kidney transplant donor Michael Moore and recipient Stephen Gottschalk of Hillsboro, Mo.
Thanks Dave, The only thing about this interview that was left out is how important it is for people to sign their donor cards and let their family members know they wish to be a donor when they pass. Steve & I just had our second joint family reunion on Halloween 2009.
Mike when I heard you were doing this I heard it from Dave and not you. After working for you in 2008 you had plenty of chances to talk about this but you didn't mention it once. It says a LOT about a guy who does things for other people without advertising it. Sure, everyone knows now - and they should as this may inspire other selfless generosity - but the point is the could use more people like you who leave the "I" and "Me" out of their conversations .
Amazing story, just amazing. Good for you. and special congrats to barnes jewish hospital, heard they took care of them very well!! im from st. louis and know that hospital, its a top ten!
What a wonderful story and what a wonderful gift! I wish the both of you the best of health and life! I know Steve very well~ he is one of the kindest people I have ever met and Mike you have given such a wonderful gift , WOW ~ God bless you. Tell Steve, Karen said "Hi and God bless". Continued good health to you both and may God continue to bless you both, all of your days!!!!
