Come aboard Union Pacific Railroad's legendary No. 844 steam locomotive on the Valley Eagle Heritage Tour as it visits Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas. April 2010
@cdffirefighter ...sure seems like yer doin' yer best ta bust his bubble. Not that your pedigreed opinion matters to anyone here more than anyone else's opinion. I sure hope maxm2317 gets a special tour of that engine. I'm sure hope you get your wish!!!! If I were you, kid, i'd write 'em a letter, send it return receipt requested, and give it the old college try. gooooo maxm2317!
@maxm2317 my grandfather worked for southern pacific for 36 years, and retired in 1996 and when i was a kid as well when my father was either one of us could never ride with him, and you claiming to know steve lee.....is possible but unlikely, so i highly doubt he would take some overzealous railfan and his family in his engine, stop throwing names of people you think you know out and saying you will be able to arrange a cab ride and get in touch with steve, he just happends to know my grandpa
@maxm2317 ,Not to burst your bubble kid it's extremely unlikely you alone or you with your family will ever get to ride in the cab of 844,first there is limited space, and it's dangerous enviorment and union pacific will never ever take a risk like that if something were to happen i gaurentee you, yourself and family would sue u.p. for millions and the crew will not risk their career for you,and yes i know what iam talking about i work extra board for bnsf, spokane sub and my grand father....
i truthfully am not a huge fan of the 844 but i want to see it because i already was lucky enough to see The Pere Marquette 1225, The Nickel Plate Road 765, and The Southern Pacific 4449, and i'm only 12....but that was only because had the trainfest up here in Owosso,
Great. I love 844. Sadly, I never saw the engine in person, but I hope to see her come one day for my graduation trip in Cheyenne, Wyoming. If I can get in touch with Steve Lee, I might be able to arrange for a cab ride for me and my family. Here's hoping that I get my wish. Until then, I'll keep my fingers crossed and pray. Bye!
