i think it should have ended with a scene of a silhouetted overweight adult Kevin Arnold looking out a window of a lonely cheap hotel room littered with empty beer cans and drinking a bottle of Wild Turkey reminiscing on the days before life went to Hell after Winnie Cooper left his life.

Unfortunately, I never appreciated this show when it was actually on during its run. I only started watching it in reruns, and realized what I great show it was. I even started to tape it each day. GREAT show.

You know you are getting older, when you start relating to the parents instead of the kids. When I first saw this series, it was so reflective of my growing up in a small town in the sixties. Now when I watch it again, I feel sadness for his father, who worked hard to provide for his family, but sadly died before getting to enjoy his retirement, and grandchildren.
