Here's my first steam engine, i built it from scratch with copper pipes and plates, the flywheel is soldering wire that i've melted and pour in a silicon mould.
it has a double action oscillating cylinder (the small vertical copper pipe on the side is some kind of intake manifold)
I'm using my airbrush compressor as power source, i'll build a boiler soon.
At the end of the vid the flywheel gets free from the axle, i have to tighten that :)
I know it's kinda ratty but i don't have any lathe, mill or fancy tools, it's handcrafted !
hope you like it !
Nice work, especially for no lathe or any other tools. I'm working on making one very similar to this. Did you have difficulty making it with no special machine tools? Once again, nice work!

@DrFrankensteam Thanks for your comments ! Actually it's pretty easy to custom build parts without any tools, the only concern is accuracy ! :) so the engine efficiency is pretty low since it's leaking from pretty much everywhere.
but hey, it runs ! ;)

Congratulations! Well done!
May you tell me what double-action cylinder is that? The specific name, I mean.
And where did you get it? I´m trying to assemble a steam engine myself, but I can´t find a double-action cylinder that fits...

@ChessRep This engine is 100% scratchbuilt

very nice. may I suggest smaller exhaust ports to maximise compression stroke and maby a smaller flywheel. BRAVO.

@diegeeleel Good call for the exhausts ports ! will do ! I definitely have compression issues that i couterbalanced with an oversized flywheel :P
thx for the advice !
