1:13 Agreed.

@loonercrazy Well, I know Walt died in 1966, but the trains, streetcars and Monorails were owned by the family business called Retlaw.
-
@PLeyava And I don't mean that as a slam on WDW about the misinformation that is being taught in Florida. I love visiting WDW. But WDW is a resort built by a corporation and not by a man who led the vision. It is still nice, but nothing is directly connected to Walt. Even EPCOT isn't what Walt originally envisioned. At DL the trains, Monorail and streetcars were all owned by Walt himself up until 1986. Those things meant that much to him when he was building DL and later added the Monorail
-
@PLeyava Well, I wasn't intending to be hostile, so I hope you understand it was not meant to be rude or hostile to you or anyone else. Let's just say I'm well connected with the family. The plans for the MK truly were drafted up after Walt died. I know it is taught in Florida that the world of Disney began in 1971 with WDW, but a lot of that misinformation is doing more harm than good. The true connections to Walt himself are all found at the Burbank studios & at Disneyland. Really nowhere else

@loonercrazy You sounded very hostile, hence my comment, I was just wondering where you heard these facts because I work there on the trains.
-
@PLeyava Manners? I'm just pointing out facts. Since when pointing out facts is not showing manners? I'm not upset or angry. I am just making a point. Sorry if that was taken the wrong way. There was no intent to insult you or anyone else.
-
@loonercrazy Ever heard of manners? Calm down, where do you get your info? I never said Walt owned the trains or anything.
-
@PLeyava Furthermore, it was Roy Disney who sent Rogger Broggie to find him steam trains NOT Walt. Walt was dead before any plans were drawn up of exactly what the "amusement park" was supposed to be on property in addition to EPCOT.
-
@PLeyava That simply is not true at all. They are there b/c when Walt died his brother and the co. overall shelved all of Walt's big plans for the Disney World project and pulled together the easiest, less expensive, quickest way to get something built on property and that was to build a scaled down knock-off of DL and 2 hotels and a campground. So the Imagineers followed much of Walt's ideas from DL as not to reinvent the wheel. Walt actually owned the trains at DL at one time not WDW's trains
-
@loonercrazy Not true, the WDW steam trains are there because of Walt. Walt sent Rogger Broggie to find him steam trains for WDW and Roger did just that. This video starts off with DLR explaining Walts love with trains, then they moved to WDW with our real, authentic steam trains dating as far back as 1923.
This is definitely Magic Kingdom Park not Disneyland Park.
