In front of a crowd of ~850 Ignite enthusiasts from the Phoenix metro area DocProfSky shares his enthusiasm of 3D printing and talks about the MakerBot Cupcake CNC printer. The crowd gives him a standing ovation, a first ever at Ignite Phoenix.

You can't print 3D metal, but I'll bet you can print PLA, and use it like wax, for lost-wax metal casting.

@GuitarJammer28 The interesting thing is, that after he patented the movie camera, he started to go after anyone who would use his invention without permission or paying royalties. The same people fled to California and created what is today known as Hollywood - using a "pirated" movie camera... ;D

steel printing will eventually become available as an upgrade, it opensource, getting one now does not mean yule have to throw it away when steel printing becomes feasible, it's just another printing head driven by the same machine, so look at it as an addon
