Just installed the new Quaife LSD and had to prove that it worked as claimed.

  • Weak my pgt leaves darker marks

  • @1994pgt I'm so happy for you. You must stay awake at night thinking about how dark your marks are. Thank you so much for sharing.

  • How's quiafe compare to the VLSD on the touring and track models?

  • @Jzeman11 I'm not sure. My came with the stock open diff so I never drove one with the VLSD. What I've read leads me to believe that the Quaife locks up a little better. The viscous works OK, but it really is just fluid that creates friction between the two axle splines which is how they lock up. The Quaife is actually two mechanical gears that mesh together. But like I said, I haven't tried them both.

  • is this the 2.0 or the 1.5 diff??

  • @ultramax123 I'm not sure. I don't think I am familiar with the difference between a 2.0 and a 1.5 diff.

  • I can tell for sure drifting is much easier with LSD but mine is a base model which doesn't have that so can you tell me how it feels after the LSD installed?

  • @jwhitaker67 i lol'd pretty damn hard @ that comment hahaha.

  • Hell yeah. I love my z.

  • @saltyninja01 No, I did not have to buy longer axle flanges. That's the thing about the Quaife, it's designed to replace the stock open-diff, which is a slightly different size than the stock viscous-LSD. The Quaife is a direct replacement for the stock open-diff, but if you want to replace the viscous-LSD (which you might, I suppose) you would need to replace the axle flanges.
