Huh, to me the song is about humans destroying the planet, continuing even though we know exactly what we're doing.

Coming from someone who is a classic rock/Classical/Folk Guitar/Irish folk kind of person, Gotye is such an awesome artist. He sounds like the sweet combination of Peter Gabriel and MGMT for me. I love him. He gives me hope for the music of the future.

I get that from it too, and in the terms of the video i also think the clay dudes represent how people are ashamed of their mistakes. and their search for water for their clay mask's is like trying to find away to hide from tho'es mistakes. but that's just my deduction my dear soul reaping wadson!

I'd have to disagree, every day another species goes extinct due to deforestation and pollution. Look up the pacific rubbish (island)? that was caused by us, and if we go out any of the likely ways, it's also likely that we'll take the rest of the planet with us.

However I do feel that the shift towards saving the planet is coming just fast enough, all we really need is stricter population control.
