  • @calql8er I keep hearing the Yakuza had matches fixed..for gambling money..but either way classic sumo two of the greats!

  • Terao was my favorite. I still remember this bout. And, yes, Chiyonofuji was the man. Why he suddenly quit after 31 basho wins when he was within one of Taiho (sp?) suggests maybe...beats me...some pressure put on him?

  • Terao was awesome but even if he wins here, Chiyonofuji is still the man. Love the look on his face afterwards, like - that was just luck that we tipped at the end there and he won it, but after the effort he put in at the start he deserves it anyway.

  • That was outstanding. The look on chiyonofuji after the match says it all.

  • もしも千代の富士が前場所千秋楽の大乃国戦に勝ってそのまま連勝­記録をのばしていたら、この一番が昭和から平成を跨いだ連勝をち­ょうど60連勝で、しかも双葉山の連勝が止まったときと同じ外掛­けでストップさせるという歴史的名勝負となっていました。

    Terao was also one of my favorites, one of the few wrestlers who weighed less than Chiyonofuji.
