Author Mark Ravenhill talks about Citizenship.

A bittersweet comedy about growing up, following a boy's frank and messy search to discover his sexual identity.

'One of his very best plays. Ravenhill captures excellently the sexual insecurity of adolescence as well as the infinite curiosity.'

  • She's just in one scene, but it's an important part. She talks to Tom about the masculine and feminine energies in him and stuff. She's kinda ditzy and sterotypical, or at least that's how the actress played her in the production I was in.

  • btw in citizenship, how big is the Tarrot Reader? whats the character like? because i have to act as her

  • i have to play the Tarrot Reader, does she have a reasonable size part?

  • I recieved a lecture from him the other day, well more of a Q and A and the stupid kids I was with kept asking "do you believe your play, Citizenship is appropriate to be played by kids?" It really ruined it, but great speaker, but please Mark next time, make the jumped a little less skimpy xD

  • The Australian Premiere of Citizenship is on the 3rd of February 2009, and is directed by Lee Lewis, it also happens to be a F*ing Great play

  • I just played Tom in a New Zealand production of Citizenship. It's an amazing and powerfull play, Ravenhill should be proud.

  • Went to the theatre last night to watch it and it was fantastic. The chatroom play was outstanding in quality and power

  • i saw this last night. and it was truly amazing. i couldn't stop laughing it was brilliant, deffinately going to see it again. Stunning.

  • I Went To Watch Citizenship Last Night With My School @ The National Theatre. It Was Awesome. The Way Mark Ravenhill Managed To Use Comedy To Show An Actually Quite Meaningful Piece Of Drama Was Really Good. And His Characterisation Of All The Teens Were Pretty Much Spot On. Me And My Class Mates Were Left Comparing The Characters To Other School Mates. Definatley A Good Job Well Done.

  • This guy is awesome last year i was fortunate enough to work on his play "Mother Clap's Molly House" with director Nick hytner at the theatre royal haymarket. It was brilliant...
