Personally, I disagree. I don't believe this was about God, just about the bond between a father and his son. In my mind, that's beautiful. It doesn't need to have a religious basis to be powerful.
I'm not really a Christian, but I do admire the love Christians share with God. I just don't think this is an example of that.

I don't believe the movie was about God either, but just that parts of the storyline can help us understand God's love for us, like a father who would do anything to find his son.
