my dream...is to one day, be out there, with the drum line of TBDBITL
-
2:17 now that's what i call chairsteps!

"Pick up your feet!
Turn your corners square!
Drive, drive, drive"
It's fast (180 beats/minute), precise, and definitely the least gay style of marching you will ever see. It has been widely adopted at the college level. Unfortunately the drum corps international program has brainwashed HS bands to adopt a style that is really walking rather than marching.

@fanzer555 I believe it is called the Buckeye Invitational.

Interesting how the snares are held in such a position. Is there a benefit to such a posture? I have never seen that before.....

@Buckeyeup Me too!! I'm going there this year again!
I hope you pursue your dream to the fullest. It has been a tremendous life experience for my son (the one on the end) and everyone else I know who has done it. Be sure to participate in every summer session you can get to prior to trying out, and, if possible, have someone make videos so you can monitor your own progress. Work hard and good luck. WB!

The marching style requires the drums to be worn high to keep them off the knees.

@bartjuhhf I've never seen anyone, gay or straight, walk like that. It's called "marching."

that is the only time i have seen the stadium not jam packed while that is going on, I live and Columbus and go to 1 or two games a year. It is waaaaaaaaaaaay better in person.

This was recorded at a band competition at the Shoe in early October (not at a regular OSU football game). That's why the stadium is not filled with people (which also explains why you can hear the music so well). I recorded the same scene at a real game a week or two prior and, as you can imagine, the crowd noise drowns out much of the musical clarity. I may post it anyway since it gives a better picture of the band's ramp entrance on game day with 105,000 cheering fans. GO BUCKS!
