A good overview despite some mispronounciations, minor errors, & unnecessary focus on spiritualism. Read Pictorial Key more closely and you'll see that Waite clearly scoffs at an Albigensian (Cathar) origin for the cards. He didn't elevate the Lesser Arcana to that of the Greater but saw them as an important story of the loss of the Great Secrets that the Greater Arcana sought to attain.

@Teheuti Thank you for your feedback and constructive critique. Perhaps you could contact me in regard to the "minor errors and mispronunciations". I'm sorry about what you see as an unnecessary focus on Spiritualism. The point here is to inform the "general public" about the Tarot being its own system apart from others based on fact. Today, it is common to find people claiming to be Spiritualist Mediums, gifted with ESP (or the like), and yet still also utilizing Tarot. This can confuse people.

pamela coleman smith is my heroine!

@ravynlefay...NIICE. Unfortunately, even given Smith's tremendous impact on the Tarot, she died in poverty and obscurity as artists and mystics often do.
