Hi. I'm Ken Kelly and this is my entry in the 2009 Bushman World Ukulele Video Contest. This little didi was made famous by Shirley Temple and Buddy Ebsen in 1936.. Buddy, a hoofer in his younger days, became the beloved Jed Clampit in 1960s TV series The Beverly Hillbillies.

About the lyrics, the fish are happy because it's Friday and they haven't been caught for supper. They all head out to Neptune's Hall for a long night of dancing at . . . the Codfish Ball. It was written by Lew Pollack and/ Sidney D. Mitchell in 1936 for Shirley Temple Movie "Captain January
I hope you enjoy.

  • Hehe you're not too old for Shirley Temple. This is really good. Is that a Casper ukulele in the back?

  • @applebritta

Yes, I watched a lot of Casper the friendly ghost cartoons as a little boy. Saw the uke, a friend gifted it to me. Thanks for your kind words.
