Test of 2.4GHz ATV over approximately a 100km path. My location was Mount Gibraltar. Stations in Sydney were VK2TRF, VK2CQ and VK2GG. Some technical issues were identified, but that is the whole point of these experiments!

  • @M1PRO Hi Jason - that one was definitely a 2.4GHz antenna. I think it had a problem with the feed - a grounded dipole type arrangement. A friend gave me a new dish and new feed, so all is cured. The gridpacks are pretty effective. Another ham round here covered one in fine brass mesh, and it's good for up to 10GHz! (with the correct feed of course). 73 - Rob VK2GOM / G0MOH

  • I have a friend who has a similar antenna that he bought from eBay. We found it was more near 23cms than 13cms.
