I made this for anyone who is thinking about donating themselves. I was kind of scared about it, and it is such an odd thing that it would have been nice to hear other peoples' story. So...here is mine!

P.S. If you have ANY questions, feel free to shoot me a message, comment, vid response, ANYTHING and I promise to respond!

  • I think you're really cool for donating to your auntie, I wish more people knew the importance of donating . :)

  • thank you

  • What's a butterfly needle?

  • it's the smallest needle (diameter wise) that i know of they can take blood with. i'm not sure why they don't just always use it, but you can't even feel it and i don't mind giving blood anymore because of it.

ask for one! you'll be plesently surprised.

  • My father is doing great. His creatine level is consistently 0.6

I've been feeling great also. Although, I missed my last checkup. But I normally judge my levels between checkups by my skin condition...any discoloration or acne can signal low hydration levels and all. My Transplant Coordinator told me right after surgery to drink at least 64oz. everyday. Problem is......the liquor store isn't open on Sundays......lol......just joking... :-)

  • haha!! I hear you...

Well that is awesome!! Thanks so very much for sharing your story!! And I'm REALLY glad that you didn't like the compliments. I thought I was just being a cold hearted bitch... That makes me feel better about it.

    Do check in again sometime!

  • great advice

  • The reason tech's don't automatically use the butter-fly needle is because they either get in trouble if they use one and/or they are told that the labs are constrained with regards to being able to spend the money to accommodate most people who request the butter-fly needles for blood-testing.

  • Awesome video. I am so glad I found you on here. My dad is in need of a kidney, and I am going to start testing hopefully next month to donate him one of mine. I was super scared and still am, but your video helped me a lot! I will definitely keep in touch!

  • awesome and awesome awareness! I just started messing with starting my own vlog with my personal sarcastic twist in dealing with my kidney disease! check it:P

  • @ANewHopeIll I just had that done today, tissue testing is just basically a blood test, it's called HLA testing which is DNA testing. It's not that bad.

  • Thanks for doing this video. I donated my left kidney to my uncle on August 2, 2010. You inspired me to make a video and upload it too.

  • I'm donating a kidney to my brother latter on this month.
