    These guns have a similar range to the naval versions, about 25km being a typical 'real world' range, however the maximum range of some guns approached 50km. The type of artiliary being used could affect the range considerably.

  • These guns just didn't work in world war II because of the lack of mobility. They would have been useful in world war I with the stalemate of the trenches.

    The US Navy had some big railway guns operating in France from 1917. The are movies of them on youtube (search for "ww1 railway gun" to see them)

    There has been a few done in model form. Lima, AHM & Riverosi all did HO scale versions.

    If you want Dora there is a massive 1:35 kit available.
