Strawberry Hill - Red House Painters. From album 'Rollercoaster', recorded Summer 92 to Spring 93. Vocalist Mark Kozelek. Label, 4AD. Chorus supposedly sung by a random group of strangers off the street. Brilliant, moody song.

  • The off setting guitar at the beginning is somewhat... unsettling to the atmosphere of the pic. I love it!

  • One of the best songs i've ever heard

  • Mark is one of the best songwriters of our age. He is underrated and overlooked. Unfortunately it might take his death after a years of writing for people to get it. He is beyond anything that has been to date. This song still moves me in a way that know other does.

  • it's a shame they don't play together anymore

  • Wow, Uplifting song.

  • Wow, Depressing song.

  • Rollercoaster is among the most underrated albums released in 1993. Red House Painters deserves to be more known and they are a perfect ambassy for melancholia!

  • The Cure?

  • @hauntedballroom
