Note: These missions are done along the way so you can see how far you must progress before it is possible to get a max rank rating battle (aside from trying it later on when much more powerful).


The first mission to make me attempt three times.. not because I lose.. but because I couldn't get Five Stars.

- First attempt I had ZERO stars
- Second attempt I gotten Four Stars
- Third attempt? This is the video...

I couldn't be a Preemptive Attack sadly (maybe I was unlucky) and the hand mobs can interrupt my attacks while the other can cause knockdown.

Given with an extremely short estimated time, I had to hope I can take out the hand-mobs before they could interrupt or juggle me.

From there I had to change tactic a few times.. on my second attempt I used ATK-JAM-ENH since the mob was magic immune (but ATK and JAM itself was a little slow in Breaking)...

So, I figured the earlier I get into Break, the faster I can take him down.

Hence, I went BLA-BLA-BLA even though it was magic immune, the break system still works.. so once the mob was Chain Break, I went to ATK-JAM-ENH where DeProtect & Brave make Lightning so powerful she could take it out in less than two turns (enough to get my Five Stars! woot!).

Man, took me close to ten tries to get five stars on this. I realized how impossible it would be to make much improvement over 35ish seconds, so I ran for the Gold Watch first. Having it didn't help much though. So then I went to lower-level weapons (I had everything maxed out), and still only got four stars, but a little better luck the next time finally got me the full five.

@elesayth ur stronger... ranking time is based off how strong your characters are

I got 4 stars. If you equip all three of your characters with sprint shoes maybe that would help.

It depends on the level of your weapons. just equip a lvl 1 weapon and you should be fine, as long as you have the strength and magic to beat it

The stronger you are, the lower your target time will be.

Could the NA release have different Target Times?

My copy of XIII (NA) has a 56 seconds Target Time for mission 31.

I just got 50 seconds, because I re-did it several times just for a pre-emp strike without any shrouds.

I used a shroud once and got it in 45-46 seconds, but it only gave me 3 stars because of the shroud :|

If anyone's having trouble, or aren't patient enough. I guess you can wait until later when you get a Gold Watch which supposedly adds more target time to get 5 Stars easier.
