It's hard for me to imagine Linden Hills once being marketed as "Cottage City." What's even harder for me is to imagine that the intersection of 43rd & Upton was considered the "downtown" for a generation or two. Bayer's Hardware has been serving this community for 88 years and has not only survived the Depression, urban/suburban sprawl and big box department stores to become a staple of this community.
