it's the government failed institutions and corruption that failed

The blame lies on the contractors and not the owner of the building. But on hearing that one floor was already rented out casts doubts on the owner.

Kenya goverment should really think before they act, the owner of the building Mr Kimani is not the one who made the building fall he gave the job to the qualified engineers and contractors who have full engineers degrees PLEASE LET KIMANI FREE AND NO CHARGES SHOULD BE RAISED UPON HIM
HE IS VERY INNOCENT MAN , AND YOU SHOULD THINK WHY KENYAN GOVERMENT AND POLICE DEPARTMENT IS VERY CORRUPTED LET KIMANI FREE, AND PREPARE YOURSELVES TO GO TO HAGUE
CORRUPT ADMINISTRATION

The owner is not a contractor and nor does being the owner make anyone a professional contractor at all. Professional personnel were given the work which resulted in this tragedy of the workers who were getting means to lay the food on the table for themselves and their families too. He should not be arrested.

double jeopardy... the owner is a victim. he subcontracted the work to persons believing they were proffesionals.

Why have the building owner arrested? He is the property owner but not the professional contractor. The work was given to qualified professionals and it is not right therefore, to have the property owner arrested.

Not necessarily if you have the expertise and a shitload of money, both of which seem to absent in the above video.

The so called landlords/landladies value money more than pples lives. They wanna get rich very quickly in that the cracked 1st floor must be occupied as soon as it's ready and forgetting the risks involved. All the same we have to blame the tenants for accepting to occupy a building still under construction.

Is an MP sponsoring a bill to reign in such problems? How about a bill to deal with air disasters like those at Wilson? oh, I forgot waheshimiwa don't deal with such "small" things....
