I grew up in the Sixties. It was a different world. The country was polarized: racial tension, the Vietnam war, corrupt politicians,greedy corporations. The Music showed us that there were other perspectives, that there was hope for a better world. It was a time when your crummy little transistor radio was judged by the amount of transistors you had: mine had 7, it was mid-line. But it was the bomb: I could hear our music all day and night. Back when kids played together,talked with each other..

Yes..there's reading..then there's READING. Look around: here on YT and any internet site where young people post comments. Dis-information abounds unchallenged. Discerning reading, and complete/accurate expression of thought..with actual facts and history is frequently..almost exclusively...absent. Interest in the fullness of any story is lacking..if you can't say it "quickly" (typically in one five-word or less sentence) they are not interested. Short attention spans are rampant.

One of my all time favorite songs from the late 1960's when the music was far better, the artists were talented, and have very strong messages that sent warnings of what could happen. It's a disgrace that the Chambers Brothers were cheated out of their royalties, and Viet Nam era veterans and Veterans, retired Federal GOvernment workers are today being cheated also by the Washington Bureaucrats which will enjoy 100% tax free retirement, while I pay taxes on my retirement, WHAT A DEAL.
