They were HUGE then and a few months later they couldn't get arrested. The public turned against them for some reason. I saw 'em in December '70 at MSG in NYC and had a great time.
hey, i was there! july 9th 1971 with my best friends, terry, mary, arlene and lorraine. we were fourteen and fifteen yrs old. my tickets were stolen and then recovered in school. my dad drove us there from suffolk county ny. and then picked us up. massive amount of people were standing on train platform listening. this was the best song of the night. it rained when uriah heap played and they played with plastic covering their amps. she stadium was rocked back and forth in an erie way.
yea i take history of rocka nd roll as a subject in skool n i just watched a video on them n think that its amazing that they sold out shea in 72 hours
I slept overnight at Shea to get tickets. Thousands were there sleeping. I was 16 years old. I remember seeing a naked girl running in the parking lot. Humble Pie opened the show. They too were incredible. Peter Frampton was their lead guirtarist. Fantastic concert.
Greatings from Germany! I am a very big fan of Grand Fznk Railroad and have searched so long for any videos from this fantastic group! In USA I bought my first DVD and from Sweden I got one more. In GREATEST HITS DELUXE EDITION is a CD and a DVD with that remarkable Shea Stadium Live Concert. The sound is brilliant and the croud cheered like the Beatles Gig in SHEA 1965 (?).
