@jdewbre Thanks for telling me. We did this at the end of July...and I got this part!!! Unfortenitly we had to give solo's to everyone cus it was a camp and everyone had to have a solo. So I only had the song and they gave the monoloues to other people since they didn't have that much even the one in the middle of song -_-. But this still helped me so thanks for posting it.

Working is such an underrated show. We performed it back in my highschool and I was the cleanin lady but this song as always my favorite!

He's better in this than in "Grease" or "Rocky Horror", I think. He's absolutely beautiful, and moving.
Thank you posting this. Im doing working this summer at a musical theatre camp im going to and im gonna use this as my audition piece. But I don't really know the show, can you tell me the story and is he the main character?

@Moritz015 "Working" is based on a 1972 book by Chicago-area writer Studs Terkel, which is basically a collection of interviews he did with normal people talking about their jobs and their lives. There aren't any main characters - the musical is written around several characters who give solo monologues (taken from the interviews in the book) and/or sing a solo song. This scene with the steelworker is at the end of the musical, but he also has a monologue at the beginning of the show.
