Same problem on my new iMac. Not as severe... it needs about 10 seconds of silence for it to pop... taking it to the Genius Bar over the Christmas break :(

@sdschramm Well, it's just an ultra beutiful screen, my laptop's screen isn't as great (but besides the awful viewing angles, it's not too bad), ooooh and that wallpaper, is really awesome! i had no idea you took it! can you send it to me? if you can't or don't want to, it's ok. thanks! oh and by the way, how's that macbook going? its been a year since you uploaded that video, is it still going strong? any problems?
is it just me or does that screen look amazingly colorful??? i mean, it just looks so nice

The pop sound you are getting can be turned off in the system preferences page. Click on the SOUND icon and click the box marked Play feedback when volume is changed, you will not get the popping sound any more.

no, I don't mean that sound. The "quack" when adjusting the volume in fine. I was just that as an example of when it "turns on the speakers" It does it with any sound. Like I could go to youtube and before the video plays - POP!
