Swan School Kid Reporter Spencer talks with Elaine Brown about the Tibetan Monks Creating the Sand Mandalas of Compassion over the next four days.

A special opportunity to view the unique Tibetan art of sand mandala construction. Two Tibetan lamas - the Ven. Ngawang Chojor and Lama Paljor will be constructing a sand mandala of compassion here in Port Townsend this week. Sand Mandalas are a unique Tibetan sacred art aimed at bringing healing, love and compassion in the area where it is created. There are many different mandalas in the Tibetan tradition. The one that they will be creating here is the Mandala of Compassion.

Venue: Fort Worden USO Building
Timings: Thursday October 1 to Sunday October 4, 11 am to 5 pm.
Reception for the artists: Saturday, Oct 3@7.30 pm
Dismantling Ceremony: Sunday, Oct 4 @ 2pm
