Good playing, but note the different guitar beat in the original; it has a different kind of swing. The tempo is a little too fast ;
one notch lower gives a more relaxed effect. the clarinet soloist has a thinner sonority but th might be due to the souns mixing an the quality of the recording. He is doing fine in the sole. The conductor is moving up and about which distracts the audience. Art Marshall

To gbgoul, I agree with you 100%. To play a song true to the original is more important than anything else. I've listened to it again and it's fantastic.

You also have to take into consideration the amplification sound quality. Not bad at all. I'm sure Mr. Goodman would approve!
-
I'm sure the clarinetist already knew this! Give him credit for just playing it accurately. I wouldn't expect another guitarist who learned Jim Hendrix's solos to have Jimi's feel even if he recreated it note for note.

great video - thanks for posting

Nice reconstruction. But the clarinet has a much thinner, more nasal sound than BG's. (Not that it's fair to compare anyone with BG, of course).
Awh, it's so sweet looking at those people dance.

If I only got to hear more music like this instead of rap music. I'm a teen and more teens need to learn how to appreciate good music like this. ♥
