Again... Latin means your roots are of Latin decent the term Latin American is given to those who speak a language deriving from Latin the mother language which Spanish French Portuguese and Italian comes from. if you want to get technical about it then you'd have to call yourself a Central American or South American. The word "Hispanic" came from the Latin word for Hispania the original Latin name for SPAIN...

You're White, did you learn Spanish in school? And I'm like no you idiot, I'm Hispanic, and they are like, but you look White, and I'm like, I AM White you dumbass. Hispanics are originally White Spaniard, but now today it's applied to Latin Americans also, whether they be White, Amerindian, Black or any mix of the 3.

@Darlene0111 Hispanics are NOT both ethnicity and race. I'm Hispanic and I'm White. There's different races in Latin America, there's Whites, Blacks, Asians, and Middle Easterners. Hispanics are also Whites from Spain, which actually is where Hispanic comes from. Hispanic=Hispania=Roman name for Spain. Hispanic is being used incorrectly in the U.S.. The race that"s being called Hispanic/Latino are Mestizos. Mestizo is half White/half Amerindian. That's the most common type of Latino in the U.S..

I think you meant Hispanic Americans and Non Hispanic Americans are two completely different things. Anyway, American is used incorrectly. Central Americans and South Americans are Americans too. They are from the Americas, we are the United States OF AMERICA. But I knew what you meant.
