This is how the National Anthem of South Africa should be sung! With passion! Jax and my historic outing to Soccer City in Soweto, Johannesburg to watch South Africa play Mexico at the opening of the Soccer World Cup 2010!

  • Awesome! Never let it be said we South Africans don't like to make noise :)

  • @heslop01 2 first lines in xhosa, 2 verse zulu, 3rd verse sesotho, 4th verse in afrikaans and last verse in english

    5 Lnaguages

  • what the fuck you yelling aunty!!! your voice not as good as mine, you yelling there, nobody watch you, they only watch the player, just wasting your voice aunty...

  • The best national anthem in my opinion.

(I posted a better one sung for the rugby world cup)

I would have loved to go to this one.

Unlucky they were those Bofana bofana

  • Heslop - actually five languages; first verse, two lines in Xhosa, two lines in Zulu (very similar languages), second verse in Sesotho, third verse two lines in Afrikaans and two in English. But there are 11 official languages in South Africa, these cover the three main language groups (Nguni, Sotho-Tswana and Germanic).

  • Oh and ... by god does this song not make me want to actually cry ... as "gay" at that sounds but wow ... it brings the story of a nation coming together as one, if I'm not mistaken all 4 languages are sang in the anthem right? Xhosa (Spelling?), Afrikaans, Zulu and English? ....

  • @Impi1974 you've given me goosebumps and i'm not even South African - but i'm sining this in my choir (here in England) it's like a song that starts " I knew a man ... " :] :D
