Tom Hanks is one of my heroes and I am so glad at the end when he said "we're not asking for your money. We're asking for your voice" He helps a lot with LGBT issues, the environment and of course poverty. I want to be great like Tom someday. Thank you for being an icon for my generation sir.

if they really wanted to put an end to poverty they would stop making hollywood garbage and use that money to be put towards education, and sex ed as well.

Read "The End of Poverty" by economist Jeffrey Sachs. Ending world poverty is an economic reality for our time, but only if we act swiftly and give very generously. I'd advise that you stop attempting to rationalize your inaction and instead, find an organization that you trust will NOT let money into the hands of crime lords and will instead free the world from the harsh grip of extreme poverty.
