Is there something I can use instead of linein my mac isnt updated enough for it.
-
I'm having issues with this setup.I am using different versions , I don't have the advanced tab on the LineIn program and I am also using OSX 10.7.If you know anything, could you possibly lend a hand?It will record everything on one channel only(my mic+Skype call). I followed this step by step as much as I could with different versions.
Was also wondering if anyone knows how to record other sounds coming from the computer, Soundboard/sounds from Google Chrome?

So instead of the Snowball (USB) mic I'm running a Shure SM7 through the Duet2 mic pre. As of now I can pick up Skype audio, and vocals from the mic, but they're on the same track. How do you separate them?
Stereo 1/2: Both mic and Skype come in
Stereo 3/4: Nothing
I followed the steps but clicked Duet USB whenever it said Snowball for you.

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Hi Donald, I downloaded line in and soundflowerbed - is this the same thing as soundflower? I had a call with a person I was recording and unfortunately the call did not work - i think bc the option in garage band fior each tracks channels did not have a soundflower numbered channel option. Do you know what could be wrong? Thank you!
Thanks for the video, very helpful. Off topic a bit, but what software do you use to record your desktop like that? I love how to follows your mouse rather than just focusing on the entire screen. Thanks!

@corywilliamson06 It's called iShowU. Honestly, I can't remember how much I paid for it. I think 20 bucks or something like that. It's a great program as it lets you output to any wrapper you want to. I totally recommend.

Might be a silly question, but did you enable the recording on your voice track? It's the red record button right underneath the name of the track. 8:39

Strange, I've never had a drop out issue before. My audio comes in pretty clean. Possibly a bandwidth issue? Skype on Mac seems pretty automatic as well unlike the PC version but there may be ways to configure the stream within the XML file.
Please post any questions or fixes you find here or on my blog. I regularly respond on both. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Good luck.
