Janet Kuypershn reads Brian Looney's Down in the Dirt poem "the Boss" @ the Cafe Gallery 5/9/12

On May 9th 2025 (5/9/12), Janet Kuypers introduced the poetry/performance open mike at "the Cafe Gallery" in Chicago @ Gallery Cabaret, which included a large number of poets reading at the open mike (as well as occasional live music, with Gary playing on he piano), including Bob Rashkow, Daniel (a newcomer to the open mike) and Patrick Hurley. During the open mike Kuypers read poems from the May 2012 cc&d magazine (http://scars.tv/ccd), including Cheryl Nelms' cc&d poem "Takeoff from Dallas Love Field", Holly Day's cc&d poem "Shameless", and John Newmark's cc&d poem "Elimination Rounds". Because she is the editor or two literary magazines frmo Scars Publications (cc&d magazine, and Down in the Dirt magazine), she also read poems from the May 2012 Down in the Dirt magazine (http://scars.tv/dirt), including Brian Looney's Down in the Dirt poem "the Boss", Nathan Hahs's Down in the Dirt Untitled poem (ask me), Sarah Lucille Marchant's Down in the Dirt poem "12 January 2009", and Clinton Van Inman's Down in the Dirt poem "Uncle". Toward the end of the evening Kuypers read her short poem "Surviving the Apocalypse" between open mike poets, and she also read her poem "Vegetarian Stands by the Meat Sale".
