@pirbird14 You're going to have to elaborate on that, how exactly does Hegel's negation of the negation show us that consciousness can be understood using "Western rational tradition?" And what do you mean by "Western rational tradition?"

Your comment seems to be nothing more than an empty jab at Harris. Who, as a PhD neuroscientist, is likely much more intelligent and has much greater understanding than someone commenting on a youtube video. Not to appeal to authority but just saying ;).

Im sure I'll be misunderstood, but I would call Sam Harris a Buddha. He seems to be, to me, one of the most compassionate speakers and very wise. He doesn't say something that sounds wise and leaves it at that, he can explain every facet of what he believes without an overbearing ego.
