Love High Chaparral. A real champion's champion. Rapidly becoming a very influential sire in Europe these days, as well. Carrying on that great bloodline passed on to him from Sadler's Wells. Who just recently died at age 30 in 2011. Which was passed on to him by the great Northern Dancer.

Not only was the finish insanely good but the field was impeccable. Longshot Toccet won two grade 1 races (Champagne, Hollywood Futurity), Balto Star won the grade1 UN Cap(turf) and Arkansas Derby(dirt), Sulamani won 6 grade 1 races on 3 continents, Storming Home won 3 grade 1 races, The Tin Man won multiple grade 1 races including the Arlinton Million at 8 and Shoemaker Mile at 9, Falbrav won 7 grade 1 races, High Chaparral won 6 grade 1s, and Johar won this race and the grade1 Hollywood Derby

Your dead right russianrhythm,Falbrav went for home too soon,High Chapparal was an out and out mile and a half stayer.Every time i see this race i still think Falbrav's going to hang on.The greatest race off all time!!

The result: High Chaparral and Johar in a dead heat, the first ever in a Breeder's Cup race. Falbrav was a close third.
